Ukrainian band 1914 is coming to Croatia for the very first time. One of the most distinctive acts in today’s extreme metal scene will bring its unique blend of blackened death metal and World War I themes to Croatian audiences.
One of the most distinctive bands in modern extreme metal, Ukraine’s 1914, is making its Croatian debut. The band, renowned for its unique blend of black, death, and doom metal combined with the authentic themes of World War I, will perform on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Vintage Industrial Bar.
Their songs are not based on fictional stories of war. Instead, they draw inspiration from real battles, historical documents, and soldiers’ testimonies. As a result, each of their albums feels like a musical chronicle of one of the greatest conflicts in human history.
Early bird tickets are available for €25 through the Hangtime website. After the early bird allocation sells out, advance tickets will cost €28, while tickets at the door, if available, will be €32. Physical tickets will soon be available at Dirty Old Shop.
Unlike most extreme metal bands, 1914 builds its music around real historical events. Rather than fictional war stories, the band draws inspiration from military documents, diaries, and first-hand accounts from World War I soldiers.

Their acclaimed album “Where Fear and Weapons Meet” further strengthened their reputation, while the latest release, “Viribus Unitis” (2025), marks a new chapter in the band’s career. The album offers a more emotional perspective on war, introducing more melody, orchestral arrangements, and dynamic contrasts. It also features guest appearances by Aaron Stainthorpe, Christopher Scott, and Jérôme Reuter.
The show at Vintage Industrial Bar will mark 1914’s first-ever performance in Croatia. It will be a rare opportunity for Croatian audiences to experience one of the most distinctive bands in contemporary extreme metal live. Their fourth studio album, “Viribus Unitis,” released in late 2025, offers a more emotional perspective on World War I. It explores themes of unity, survival, and the lasting impact of war on soldiers.
