Igorrr makes his Croatian debut at Zagreb’s Boogaloo on March 16, 2027. Special guests Secret Chiefs 3 and Fange join for a night of extreme and experimental music.
One of the most unusual and exciting artists on today’s extreme music scene, Igorrr, is coming to Croatia for the first time.
French musical visionary Gautier Serre and his band will take over Zagreb’s Boogaloo on March 16, 2027. They will be joined by special guests Secret Chiefs 3 and Fange.
The audience can expect a night where conventional genre boundaries practically cease to exist. Extreme metal, electronic music, breakcore, Baroque, opera, experimental music, surf rock, industrial and noise will all meet on the same stage.
Igorrr makes his Croatian debut
Behind Igorrr is French musician, composer and producer Gautier Serre.
His musical world is built around combining seemingly incompatible elements. Death metal blast beats meet operatic vocals, electronic music, Baroque melodies, flamenco and traditional instruments.
With the albums “Savage Sinusoid”, “Spirituality and Distortion” and the latest “Amen”, Igorrr has built an international following and a distinctive sound that is difficult to compare with any other artist.
The show at Boogaloo will be Igorrr’s first performance in Croatia.
Secret Chiefs 3 and Fange as special guests
The night will be expanded even further by Secret Chiefs 3, the experimental project led by Trey Spruance of Mr. Bungle.
Their music combines surf rock, metal, jazz, film music, psychedelia and various traditional musical systems. Their virtuosity and complete unpredictability have made them a cult name on the experimental scene.
French band Fange bring a completely different kind of intensity. Their dark combination of industrial, sludge, extreme metal and noise is built around massive riffs, electronics and distortion.
The three artists therefore represent three completely different approaches to extreme and experimental music.
A night without genre boundaries
Igorrr, Secret Chiefs 3 and Fange are not artists who can easily be placed into a single musical category. That is precisely the common thread running through this line-up.
From extreme metal and breakcore through Baroque, opera and film music to industrial, sludge and noise, the audience can expect a concert without conventional genre formulas.
Igorrr will bring his trademark studio unpredictability to the stage with a full live performance. Electronics, guitars, drums and different vocal styles turn their concerts into a combination of a metal show, a rave and an avant-garde performance.

Why you shouldn’t miss it
Igorrr will perform in Croatia for the first time, joined in Zagreb by two special guests who turn this night into much more than a conventional metal concert.
Secret Chiefs 3 bring the musical world of Trey Spruance and an experimental approach well known to fans of Mr. Bungle. Fange bring a cold and brutal combination of industrial, metal and noise.
Three artists. Three completely different approaches to extreme and experimental music. One night.
Conclusion
Igorrr in Zagreb marks the Croatian debut of one of the most distinctive artists in contemporary extreme music.
Together with Secret Chiefs 3 and Fange, Igorrr will take over Boogaloo on March 16 for a night that erases the boundaries between metal, electronic music, avant-garde and experimental music.
Igorrr is the project of French musician, composer and producer Gautier Serre, launched in the mid-2000s. From the very beginning, Serre has created music that deliberately refuses to belong to a single genre.
Extreme metal, breakcore, electronic music, Baroque music, opera, Balkan and Middle Eastern influences, flamenco and acoustic instruments can all appear within just a few minutes of an Igorrr track.
On paper, such a combination sounds almost impossible. In Igorrr’s world, however, the collision of seemingly incompatible elements has become the main creative principle.
Over time, the project grew beyond Serre’s solo electronic beginnings and developed into a full-fledged live band. Today, Igorrr is one of the most distinctive names at the crossroads of experimental electronic music and extreme metal.
From breakcore to a musical world of his own
Igorrr’s early releases were rooted primarily in experimental electronic music and breakcore. Even then, Serre was using samples of classical and Baroque music, extremely programmed rhythms and elements of metal.
The albums “Nostril” from 2010 and “Hallelujah” from 2012 further defined this approach. Rather than trying to blend different genres into one new style, Igorrr deliberately kept them in constant collision.
A blast beat can be interrupted by a Baroque melody, an operatic vocal can end in electronic chaos, while extreme metal can give way to accordion, harpsichord or acoustic instrumentation just seconds later.
This unpredictability became one of the project’s defining characteristics.
“Savage Sinusoid” and the international breakthrough
The album “Savage Sinusoid” was released in 2017 and marked an important turning point for Igorrr.
Serre expanded his use of live musicians and instruments while reducing the reliance on samples that had characterised some of his earlier work.
The result was an album where extreme metal, breakcore, Baroque music, opera, flamenco and traditional music no longer sounded like experiments layered onto an electronic foundation. They became equal parts of Igorrr’s sound.
Tracks such as “ieuD”, “Opus Brain” and “Cheval” introduced Igorrr to a much wider audience and cemented his reputation as one of the most unusual projects in contemporary extreme music.
“Spirituality and Distortion”
Igorrr’s fourth studio album, “Spirituality and Distortion”, was released in 2020.
On the album, Igorrr pushed the combination of different musical worlds even further. Metal, electronic music, classical music and traditional instruments constantly shift and collide without any need to follow conventional genre rules.
The album also features George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher of Cannibal Corpse on “Parpaing”, one of Igorrr’s most direct encounters with extreme metal.
At the same time, tracks such as “Very Noise” reveal a completely different side of Igorrr. Electronic chaos, absurdity and almost grotesque humour become just as important to the project’s identity as metal and virtuosity.
Igorrr live
Over the years, Igorrr has evolved from a studio project into a powerful live act.
On stage, Gautier Serre’s electronics meet guitars, drums and vocals that can switch without warning from extreme metal to operatic singing and completely different vocal techniques.
An Igorrr concert is therefore far more than a reproduction of the studio albums. Musical transitions that can sound almost impossible on record are performed by live musicians, giving the material additional weight and energy.
The audience can find itself somewhere between a metal concert, an electronic rave, an opera and an avant-garde performance – often within the same song.
“Amen” – a new chapter for Igorrr
The album “Amen” was released in 2025 and continued to expand the musical world Gautier Serre has been building for almost two decades.
Igorrr makes no attempt to soften the contrasts that defined the previous releases. Extreme metal and complex rhythms once again collide with electronic music, classical instrumentation, vocal experimentation and musical traditions far beyond the usual boundaries of the metal scene.
Rather than searching for a formula following the success of the previous albums, Amen confirms exactly the opposite – Igorrr works best when there is no formula.
Almost two decades after the project began, Gautier Serre continues to do what made Igorrr so distinctive in the first place: taking musical elements that seemingly have nothing to do with one another and turning them into something that could only sound like Igorrr.

⭐ Known for: combining extreme metal, breakcore, electronic, Baroque and classical music, operatic vocals and traditional musical influences into a highly unpredictable and distinctive sound
Fange are a French extreme metal band formed in Rennes in 2013. From the beginning, they have built an intensely dark and heavy sound combining sludge metal, industrial, noise and various forms of extreme metal.
Massive riffs, distortion, electronic aggression and raw vocals form the foundation of their sound. The result evokes an industrial warehouse, a noise experiment and the darkest underground metal club all at once.
The band has never settled on a single formula. Over the years, electronic and industrial elements have taken on an increasingly important role. At the same time, the heaviness of their earlier releases has remained central to their identity.
From sludge metal towards industrial
Fange spent their early years deeply rooted in sludge, noise and extreme metal. Their early releases revealed a band more interested in heaviness, abrasion and physical intensity than conventional metal structures.
Their debut album “Purge” was released in 2016. It was followed by “Punir” in 2017 and “Pourrissoir” in 2018.
The evolution of their sound was already evident across these releases. Their wall of guitar noise gradually developed an increasingly pronounced electronic and industrial dimension.
“Pudeur” and an expanding sound
The 2020 album “Pudeur” marked an important stage in the band’s development. Industrial and electronic elements became even more closely integrated with their metal foundations.
This did not make Fange any less brutal. Instead, electronics brought a different kind of weight and coldness to their music.
Mechanical rhythms, distorted textures and massive riffs began to function as parts of the same whole. This pushed the band even further beyond a simple sludge metal classification.
“Privation” and “Pantocrator”
On “Privation”, released in 2021, Fange continued to explore the space between extreme metal, industrial and noise.
The next major chapter arrived with “Pantocrator” in 2024. On the album, the band further developed the cold, mechanical and fiercely aggressive side of their sound.
The boundaries between guitars and electronics became increasingly irrelevant. Rather than functioning as separate elements, they combine to create a dense and crushing wall of sound.
This approach has helped the band establish a distinctive place on the contemporary European extreme music scene.
Fange live
Fange’s concerts rely on the physical power of their music. Riffs, electronics, distortion and vocals create an intensely claustrophobic atmosphere on stage.
Their shows are not simply conventional metal concerts. Industrial rhythms and noise elements give them the feeling of controlled sonic chaos.
Their music particularly appeals to fans of extreme metal, sludge and industrial. It is equally compelling for those who follow noise and experimental music.
Over the years, Fange have built their identity precisely at this intersection. The weight of metal and the coldness of electronics function like parts of the same machine.

Secret Chiefs 3 are an American experimental music project led by guitarist, composer and producer Trey Spruance. He is best known as one of the key members of the cult band Mr. Bungle.
The project was formed in the mid-1990s. From the beginning, Spruance envisioned it as a space where he could develop ideas without conventional genre restrictions.
Surf rock, metal, jazz, psychedelia, film music and electronic music all coexist within the same world. Middle Eastern, Persian, Indian and other traditional musical forms are also part of the mix.
The result is not a conventional band with one easily identifiable style. The music constantly changes depending on the composition, album and line-up.
From Mr. Bungle to Secret Chiefs 3
Trey Spruance was one of the architects of Mr. Bungle’s sound. The band achieved cult status in the early 1990s through its radical combination of different genres.
His new project allowed him to take that approach even further. The first album, “First Grand Constitution and Bylaws”, was released in 1996. It was already clear how broad its musical scope would become.
It was followed by “Second Grand Constitution and Bylaws: Hurqalya” in 1998 and “Book M” in 2001. These releases developed a distinctive combination of surf guitars, cinematic atmospheres, complex rhythms, metal and traditional music.
Spruance was interested in more than simply combining different styles. He paid particular attention to instruments, scales, rhythms and musical traditions rarely encountered in rock and metal.
Seven bands within one project
One of the most unusual ideas behind Secret Chiefs 3 is the concept of seven different musical sub-projects.
Each represents a different part of Trey Spruance’s musical world. The Electromagnetic Azoth, UR, Ishraqiyun, Traditionalists, Holy Vehm, FORMS and NT Fan each have their own musical characteristics and functions.
One part can lean towards more extreme metal, while another explores traditional and microtonal musical systems. A third turns towards electronic music, while a fourth focuses on film music.
The 2004 album “Book of Horizons” is particularly important to the development of this idea. The concept of multiple bands became central to Spruance’s musical universe.
“Xaphan” and the music of John Zorn
In 2008, Secret Chiefs 3 released “Xaphan: Book of Angels Volume 9”. The album features compositions by American avant-garde composer John Zorn.
Xaphan is part of Zorn’s extensive Masada Book Two – The Book of Angels project. Spruance arranged Zorn’s compositions through his own distinctive musical language.
The collaboration with Zorn fitted naturally into the band’s world. Both artists are interested in radically combining musical traditions and complex composition. They also share an interest in pushing the boundaries of rock, metal, jazz, avant-garde and Middle Eastern music.
Xaphan became one of the project’s best-known releases. It also created an important connection with the wider American avant-garde scene.
“Book of Souls” and Ishraqiyun
Secret Chiefs 3 continued to develop different parts of their musical system through the “Book of Souls” series.
The album “Book of Souls: Folio A” was released in 2013. Once again, it demonstrated how far Spruance could take the idea of combining different musical languages.
Ishraqiyun holds a particularly important place within this world. This part of the project focuses strongly on Middle Eastern musical traditions, microtonality and complex rhythmic structures.
Guitars and rock instrumentation meet instruments and musical systems from entirely different traditions. These influences are never reduced to mere exotic decoration.
Secret Chiefs 3 live
Secret Chiefs 3 concerts are known for highly virtuosic performances. The complexity of the studio recordings does not disappear on stage.
The line-up has changed over the years. A large number of musicians from experimental, metal, jazz and avant-garde scenes have passed through the project.
Depending on the repertoire, a concert can move from surf rock into metal or from cinematic music into Middle Eastern melodies. An almost danceable rhythm can suddenly give way to a complex instrumental composition.
This approach has earned the band a special place among fans of Mr. Bungle, John Zorn and the wider experimental and avant-garde scene. Predictability was never part of the plan.
