Krankšvester – rap duo from Osijek redefining the hip-hop scene

Krankšvester and their beginnings in Osijek

Krankšvester, also known as Švester, Šveca or Šveki, was founded in 2010 in Osijek, Croatia. The duo consists of 3ki and Sett, recognized from the start for their provocative, humorous and unique style. Their music has pushed the boundaries of the regional rap and hip-hop scene.

Musical style and features of Švester

The band’s style can be baroquely elaborate and explicit, but also minimalistic and direct. This is most evident in their album titles: Krankšvester I, II, III, BONUS (Švester is the Truth), IV and V. While the titles are simple, the content is diverse and always sparks reactions from listeners.

Themes and lyrical approach

Their lyrics cover a wide range of topics – from social commentary to absurd and shocking verses. Still, if you are around parents, grandparents or children, you will probably put on headphones. The contrast between humor and provocation is what gives Švester their unmistakable identity.

Musical influences and happy hardcore energy

Their backing tracks reveal strong inspiration from 90s dance stars once seen on VIVA and MTV – from Marusha and DJ Bobo to Scooter. Their sound can best be described in two words: happy hardcore. This fusion of retro aesthetics and modern rap production sets them apart.

Audience and popular songs

The audience is divided. Some prefer hits like “Retardirana”, “Slava” or “Gaber”, while others enjoy classics such as “Svekar”, “Disco Rak” or “Majko zovi dilera.” This variety has allowed them to reach a wide spectrum of listeners.

Awards and recognition

Krankšvester even won the prestigious Porin Award for Best Hip-Hop Album, officially confirming their relevance on the Croatian music scene.

Švester is the truth – or something more

For some fans, “Šveki is love.” For others, “Šveki is the truth.” The reality is that Švester is much more – a phenomenon blending shock, humor and honesty in a way unique to regional hip-hop.

Eegor – an avant-garde alt-pop performance in Belgrade

Who is Eegor

Eegor is a Serbian alt-pop artist from Belgrade. He is a singer, trained guitarist, poet, performer, and songwriter. Wider public attention followed his appearance at Pesma za Evroviziju ’23. There he performed the ethno/trap ballad “Starac dana.” The song was accompanied by a surreal and highly symbolic performance. This moment clearly set him apart on the local music scene.

Performance as an artistic statement

A year later, he presented the radical performance “Culture and Art in Serbia” at Club Dim. During the act, the audience received instructions to throw objects and verbally humiliate him. He wore a sign reading “culture and art in Serbia.” The performance provoked strong reactions. It confirmed an artistic direction that openly rejects comfort and passive spectatorship.

Album, visuals, and live form

In the fall of last year, he released an album through Bassivity. Over the same year, he unveiled eight music videos. At the same time, the live concert version of the project premiered. It received a strong response from both audiences and critics.

A hybrid trio as a stage sensation

This hybrid alt-pop/rock/jazz trio built a reputation through unforgettable shows. Concerts at clubs Sprat and Dim in Cetinjska Street marked late 2025. Each performance is different and unpredictable. Strong performative elements define the experience. Audience interaction plays a central role.

Live premiere of “Klaber”

In 2026, the artist will return to Pesma za Evroviziju. This time he presents the eurodance track “Klaber.” As the opening act for Krankšvester at Zappa Barka, the set will include an exclusive live premiere of the song. Additional surprises are also planned.

The audience will hear “Klaber” live two weeks before its official RTS performance. This makes the concert especially significant.

Conclusion

This project blurs the line between pop music, performance, and contemporary art. The shows are not just concerts. They are intense experiences that provoke and challenge the audience. The upcoming performance at Zappa Barka marks another key step. It confirms the development of one of the most original music-performance projects on today’s Serbian scene.
