Origins and formation of Old Night
Old Night are a doom metal band from Rijeka, founded in 2015 by Luka Petrović. From the beginning, the idea was clear: create music free from trends and outside expectations — personal, sincere and emotionally powerful.
While rooted in traditional doom metal, Old Night expand their sound with influences from classic heavy metal, progressive rock and atmospheric, almost cinematic elements. The result is a sound that is slow, immersive and deeply expressive.
Discography and evolution
Their debut album “Pale Cold Irrelevance” (2017) immediately drew attention within the underground scene. It was followed by:
- “A Fracture in the Human Soul”
- “Ghost Light”
- “Mediterranean Melancholy” – their latest and highly acclaimed release
The band is currently promoting Mediterranean Melancholy live, further confirming their steady growth and artistic maturity.
It is also worth noting that the RiRock association named Old Night “Artist of the Year” in 2019, cementing their position as one of the most respected bands on the Croatian heavy music scene.

Old Night’s music is not only heavy and dark. At its core lies emotion: slow tempos, layered guitars, melodic vocals and evocative atmospheres.
