Who Are Decapitated
Decapitated is one of the most important and influential bands on the European death metal scene. The band was formed in 1996 in Krosno, Poland. Even as teenagers, they quickly gained global attention.
Their debut album “Winds of Creation” is still considered one of the most impressive first releases in the genre. From the start, they stood out with a mix of technical precision, brutality and groove.
Rise on the global metal scene
Albums such as “Nihility”, “The Negation” and “Organic Hallucinosis” strengthened their position worldwide. Over the years, the band built a reputation as one of the most intense live acts in death metal.
Extensive touring across Europe and the United States made Decapitated synonymous with precise and energetic performances.
Break and new chapter
In 2007, the band faced tragedy with the death of drummer Witold “Vitek” Kiełtyka. After this, Decapitated paused their activity.
Their return in 2009 marked a new chapter. The band continued to evolve their sound. Later albums such as “Carnival Is Forever”, “Blood Mantra” and “Anticult” introduced a more modern, groove-focused approach.
Collaborations and influence
Throughout their career, Decapitated has shared the stage with major acts such as Slayer, Meshuggah and Lamb of God. This confirmed their status as a key band in the global metal scene.
Guitarist Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka is the central figure of the band. He has also performed with Vader and Machine Head, further proving his influence in metal.
